Ultimately, of course, "the thing-in-itself" also disappears; for at bottom it is the conception of a "subject-in-itself."
The antithesis "thing-in-itself" and "appearance" is untenable; but in this way the concept "appearance" also disappears.
That is to say: there is no "thing-in-itself."
The thing-in-itself is nonsense.
That "immediate certainty," as well as "absolute knowledge" and the "thing-in-itself," involve a contradictio in adjecto, I shall repeat a hundred times; we really ought to free ourselves from the seduction words!
